How to reclaim industrial land

Land is always at a premium in Britain and it’s becoming more and more difficult to use it. The chipping away of the green belt around our towns and cities continues unabated and has been made even easier by rulings from the Conservatives over the last 14 years. It’s now more likely for companies to challenge local decisions over sites that are designated beautiful or of scientific interest. However there is hope that these green spaces won’t all be removed. There is still a far amount of land that can be used, it just needs reclaiming.

Land Remediation Services, like those from  soilfix.co.uk/services/groundwater-soil-remediation-services are able to offer a way of making brownfield sites able to be used again. There are plenty of places that can be used. These are often located within cities and towns, or on the outskirts. They can represent areas with a high net worth in terms of their location.

However they are not areas that can be easily regained. They are generally military sites or were once used for industrial and primary industries like coal mining. Now that these commercial uses have fallen by the wayside it’s time to try and reclaim them back for something more useful. Safe and affordable housing has to be the answer to this. It can be costly but given the pressure that the green spaces are under surely we’re going to have to try.
