Bristol International Balloon Fiesta

Every year in Bristol, hundreds of brightly coloured balloons take to the skies in the largest balloon fiesta in Europe. It is a magnificent sight to behold and the event carries on for four days in the summer. With a fun, carnival atmosphere, around 100,000 people attend the attend each day the event runs. Famous music artists perform live on stage and there are plenty of fun events to watch on the ground too. Albuquerque International Balloon Festival

Located in New Mexico, United States, this festival has attracted huge numbers of balloons in the past. Currently a limit of 750 balloons is in place but in the past the number of balloons in the sky exceeded one thousand. This is the longest running festival, lasting for a grand nine days. The impressive array of balloons of all descriptions take to the sky during early October and are seen by 100,000 people per day making this the largest balloon event in the world.

Great Forest Park Balloon Race

This event lasts for just one day and takes place in St. Louis, Missouri. It is a race other than just a display but the unique thing about this event is that the night before the race, spectators are invited to come along and watch the ‘balloon glow’. This is the chance to see the balloon after dusk as they light up the night sky with their burners. This sounds like a magical event that both children and grown-ups would be sure to enjoy.

Taiwan International Balloon Festival

Held for almost the whole month of July, the Taiwan festival is an epic balloon fest for enthusiasts all over the world. The stunning balloons ride smoothly over the Taitung mountains and as darkness falls, concerts are held to celebrate the event as the balloons light up the night sky.

Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

Another annual festival that is held at the Omni Aviation Complex in Pampanga. Balloon teams from around the globe flock here to get involved in the exciting event. Spectators can also enjoy rocket demonstrations, skydiving displays and flag jumps at this event, as it features much more than just hot air ballooning. Over 60,000 people visit the festival each day that it operates.

Plano Balloon Festival

Texas loves to do everything big and this includes ballooning. Each year in September, Plano goes balloon crazy for one of its biggest events. The festival has been running for over thirty years and is a charity fundraiser event. There’s a stage for local acts to perform, a fun kid’s zone and plenty of balloon launching too.
