What are the current rules about face masks?

Face masks are essential in supermarkets and shops, as well as takeaways, building societies, banks and sandwich shops, the Government has announced. From August 8th rules will also apply to places of worship, theatres and museums.

Going into a post office, retail centre or hub of transport also mandates that people wear a mask, such as airports, train stations and bus depots. Failure to wear a mask, if you are not exempt, will result a £ 100 fine. Find out the benefits of an R Shield at a site like https://www.respitech.co.uk/product/r-shield-snood-scarf-face-covering.

The new requirements are to be enforced by the police as shop workers should not be put in a position to force compliance. Those aged under 11 and those with a disability will not be required to wear a face covering.

Scientific studies have shown that wearing a covering over the mouth and nose can reduce the risk of an infected person transmitting the virus to others considerably.

Staff in these places will not need to wear a mask themselves.
