Exploring the Natural Wonders of North America

North America is a vast country, spreading across a range of climates and geological wonders. When we think of visiting North America, of course the popular choices for holidaymakers such as New York and Disneyland will always be firm favourites. If, like motivational speaker and fundraising superhero adventureman adventureman.org/  you are looking for a holiday a little more off the beaten track, with the opportunity to explore some of Americas lesser known natural wonders, there are plenty to choose from. Here are some that may inspire your next trip…

Monument Valley Utah – On the border of Arizona and Utah, in the dry desert is the spectacular Monument Valley. Groups of enormous sandstone buttes tower over the desert below, making this one of the most outstanding natural scenes that you will set eyes on in America. Inhabited by the Navajo people who have lived on this land for hundreds of years, the area was made famous by the films starring John Wayne. There are local guides who will be happy to take you deep into the heart of the valley for a real experience of this really wild American landscape.

Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky– Mention Kentucky to most people and they will probably think of the fried chicken bearing the name of the state! But it is also home to the Mammoth Cave National park, which contains the longest known cave system in the world. More than 400 miles of the caves have been explored, and it is well worth visiting for a guided tour around these fantastic caves, described by an early guide as a grand, gloomy and peculiar place! They are certainly worth a visit, to be able to experience this vast underground world and learn the history of the caves is something to be remembered.

Hubbard Glacier Alaska – Probably the most wild and remote state of all in the United States, Alaska is also home to some of the most spectacular scenery and natural wonders on Earth. The Hubbard Glacier is one of these spectacular sights – at an enormous 76 miles long, you will not be able to miss this enormous glacier, which has been named by some as the ‘galloping glacier’. This is due to the speed it travels as it advances towards the Gulf of Alaska. A boat trip to see this is highly recommended, but remember to wrap up warm whatever time of the year you go!
